Job summary

SEK Interlocal #637 SPED is seeking an Instructional Paraeducator to assist in supervision, care and instruction of students with special needs in regular and resource settings under the direction of a Special Education Teacher.

The role involves helping implement instruction plans, monitor behavior, and communicate student progress to school staff. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be prepared for required in-service training; non-exempt, at-will employment applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 48 college hours or Master Teacher Exam within 90 days.
• 20 hours per year of in-service training required.
• All paraeducator positions are non-exempt, at-will employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts and provides accommodations to help special education students participate in activities.
• Aids students in and out of classroom and supports social growth.
• Assists students with personal care needs as required.
• Participates in trainings to meet state requirements.
• Collaborates with staff to support student progress per IEP.
• Maintains materials and data sheets for progress tracking.
