Job summary

Lower Dauphin School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist a special education teacher and students in maintaining a quality learning environment. You will provide physical, emotional, and academic support under supervision, aligned with district policies and case management guidance.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, data collection, and adherence to confidentiality while supporting students in daily activities and routine tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Previous experience working and interacting with children preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain valid Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with positive interactions and social-emotional modeling.
• Perform instructional activities and monitor results via data collection.
• Assist with behavioral management procedures.
• Provide information on academic progress, behavioral changes, and physical needs.
• Adhere to district confidentiality policies regarding student information.
• Assist with health care tasks including feeding and bathroom support.
• Help students to and from bathrooms, cafeteria, transportation, and recess as needed.
• Adhere to the daily schedule established by the classroom teacher.
• Perform routine clerical and housekeeping duties to support educational plans.
• Complete duties as assigned by Building Administrator and Special Education Coaches.
