Responsibilities

• Communicates with parents to schedule meetings and relay messages for teachers.
• Maintains students' files/records for documentation and reliable information.
• Monitors individual students in classrooms and community to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Performs scheduling and clerical functions to support teachers and administrators.
• Adapts classroom work under the direction of the teacher to reinforce lesson plans.
• Supports students in various settings—special education classroom, general classroom, one-on-one.
• Provides accommodations for students such as reading tests aloud or check-in/check-out support.
• Fills in as a substitute teacher for Special Education classrooms when needed.
• Attendance is an essential function; in-person collaboration at the worksite is required.
