Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma.
• Pursuing a 4-year degree in a related field is preferred.
• 2+ years experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Must be able to pass Safety Care training.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials according to individual student needs.
• Implement behavior support plans to ensure a safe and orderly classroom.
• Utilize mealtimes and transitions as teaching opportunities.
• Accompany students on community outings providing supervision and instruction.
• Ensure on-task behavior throughout the school day.
• Follow all safety rules and policies as outlined in the handbook.
• Utilize emergency interventions as prescribed by Safety Care.
• Implement therapy plans in behavior, speech, OT/PT, and data collection.
