Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a Paraeducator Level III for Wheaton Woods Elementary School. This role supports students with IEPs, providing instructional and behavioral assistance within a Title I setting. The position is 7 hours per day over 10 months, with duties including supervision, documenting progress, and collaborating with teachers.

Requirements include an associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and education-related coursework. ParaPro or equivalent assessment is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required (Bachelor’s preferred).
• At least 9 college credits in education-related field.
• One year of experience with students in structured educational setting preferred.
• ParaPro Assessment passing score (455+) required or equivalent qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support students with IEP goals and individualized instruction.
• Assist with academic, behavioral, social and emotional support.
• Attend to personal care and medical needs of students as needed.
• Assist students with aggression; monitor safety and behavior.
• Contribute to learning activities off-campus when required.
• Help implement curriculum toward grade-level or alternate standards.
• Perform clerical tasks to support teachers and staff.
