Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking an IMMEDIATE Paraeducator Level I for Gaithersburg Middle School. The role supports students with IEPs in general and special education settings, with duties including instructional assistance, behavior support, and lightweight clerical tasks.

The position is 5 hours per day over 10 months, grade 13-14, with a six-month probation window for advancement. The wage range is $24.38 to $36.67 per hour, dependent on years of service.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One year of experience with students in structured educational settings preferred.
• If no related education coursework, two to four years of experience in a structured setting is required or combinations may be considered.
• Must meet ParaPro Assessment requirement or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Promote student learning and well-being for students with IEPs.
• Assist with instructional programs and classroom management in general and special education settings.
• Support teachers and staff with clerical tasks and technology tools.
