Job summary

School Social Work Association of America is seeking multiple School Behavioral Paraprofessionals for full-time, on-site positions across K-12. Roles run through the school year to support students and staff in a positive learning environment.

Starting pay is $25/hr, with benefits including health, vision, dental, and a 401K plan. Workweek is Monday to Friday, 35 hours with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Duties include assisting teachers, supporting routines, and promoting positive behavior.

Qualifications

• Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience working with students with diverse academic, behavioral, and developmental needs.
• Ability to work across different classroom environments and assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and/or classroom-based support to students as directed by the teacher and school team.
• Assist students with academic activities, classroom routines, and daily tasks.
• Support implementation of instructional and behavioral strategies.
• Help students remain engaged and successful within the classroom environment.
• Reinforce appropriate behavior and positive social interactions.
• Assist teachers and other school professionals with classroom organization and student supervision.
• Maintain student confidentiality and follow all school and district policies and procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and other members of the school team.
