Job summary

Barre City Elementary and Middle School seeks a Special Education Paraeducator to support students in 1:1 or small groups and assist during transitions and lunch. Duties include data collection and coordinating with the classroom teacher and case manager.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and complete a Paraeducator Assessment, or hold an Associate's Degree with at least 48 undergraduate credits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and must successfully complete a Paraeducator Assessment.
• Associate's degree or minimum of 48 undergraduate credits required.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 support and/or small group support.
• Eyes-on supervision during class, transitions, and lunch.
• Redirection and behavior support as needed.
• Data collection and progress monitoring.
• Communication and collaboration with teachers and case manager.

Job Description

The Barre Unified Union School District is seeking Special Education Paraeducators to work with our students at Barre City Elementary & Middle School and Barre Town Middle and Elementary School

Responsibilities for the Special Education Paraeducator will vary depending on the assignment, but typically include:

• 1:1 support and/or small group support
• Eyes-on supervision during class, transition times and lunch
• Redirection
• Data collection
• Consultation and communication with teachers and case manager

This job comes with a full benefits package. The pay rate for this position is $20 to $21 depending on experience and education.

Applicants must have a high school degree/GED and successfully complete a Paraeducator Assessment. This assessment is administered by appointment at the BUUSD Central Office.
OR
An Associate's Degree / minimum of 48 undergraduate credits.
