Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a Teacher Associate to work under the direction of professional staff, helping students individually or in groups, supervising them in classrooms, cafeterias and hallways, and implementing behavior management strategies. Occasional bus riding and one-to-one task support may be required.

The position requires two years of post secondary education or a Paraeducator certificate or qualifying NCRC score. Seven hours per day at $17.26 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of professional staff with students individually or in group settings.
• Assist with supervision of students in classrooms, cafeteria, halls, etc.
• Implement behavior management strategies.
• May ride the bus with students.
• May work one-to-one with a student to complete assigned tasks.
• Assist students with health assistance under nurses.
• Assist in preparing materials used in the educational process.
• Assist students at mealtime.
• Assist students in personal hygiene areas.
• Help get students to and from bus or car.
• Assignments may vary based on building and district needs.
