St. Joseph School District is seeking a SPED Para Professional - DLC - Tier 3 (Range 4) to support students with cognitive and communication delays in a Specialized Programming setting. You will assist in teaching, monitor progress, and help tailor lessons under teacher direction.

This role requires reliability, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and MANDT training annually. Telework may be possible with supervisor approval and you will report to the Building Principal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; substitute certificate or teacher certificate before start date.
• Associates degree or higher with official transcripts.
• 36 college credit hours with official transcripts.
• Completion of Missouri's 20-hour substitute training program.

Responsabilités

• Attend work regularly, reliably, and punctually.
• Telework with supervisor approval as needed.
• Assist teacher with clerical duties and classroom routines.
• Administer classroom assignments to support instructional process.
• Communicate with teachers/parents to evaluate progress and IE P objectives.
• Monitor students in various settings to ensure safety and positive learning.
• Report observations to instructional/administrative personnel.
• Respond to emergencies to resolve safety concerns.
• Assist students individually or in small groups with lessons.
• Assist students with mobility needs and basic medical assistance as required.
• Demonstrate understanding of student needs and assistive devices.
• MANDT trained (required annually).
• Assist students during crises and educational planning.
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans and seclusion/ restraint policies.
• Adhere to safe room procedures and data collection for IEP goals.
• Cover classes when substitutes are unavailable.
• Demonstrate professional interpersonal and confidential conduct.
