Job summary

Mundelein Elementary School District 75 seeks compassionate paraprofessionals to support diverse learners in a therapeutic day school setting. The role focuses on academic, social-emotional, communication, and life skills development within a structured environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with IEPs, behavior plans, and individualized activities while providing one-to-one and small-group support.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with school staff.
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
• Experience supporting students with special needs is a plus.
• Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent (associates or higher preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct classroom support to students with autism, developmental disabilities, emotional disabilities, and other special needs in a therapeutic day school setting.
• Assist the teacher in implementing IEPs, behavior intervention plans, and instructional activities.
• Support students with academic tasks, communication development, social skills training, and daily living skills.
• Assist with behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques as directed by classroom staff.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help students meet educational and behavioral goals.
