Job summary

Wayzata Public Schools is hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with academic, self-care, and social/behavioral needs for the 2026-27 school year.

As a paraprofessional, you will implement tasks under the special education teacher, supervise students, and assist with mobility, self-care, and adaptive equipment, while maintaining confidentiality and following school rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; must meet paraprofessional competency requirements.
• Non-violent CPI training may be required.
• Experience with students who present emotional/behavioral challenges preferred.
• Ability to lift, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working across varied settings.
• Computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement tasks with students under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Supervise students and assist with academic, social, motor, and functional activities.
• Observe, document, and communicate student data to teachers and supervisors.
• Assist with mobility, self-care skills, toileting, and adaptive equipment.
• Monitor halls, common areas, and transportation; accompany students to specialists.
• Maintain student confidentiality and enforce school rules.
