Job summary

Wayzata Public Schools seeks Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with academic, self-care, and social/behavioral needs, starting the 2026-27 school year.

You will implement assigned tasks under the supervision of the special education teacher, supervise students, and assist with mobility and daily routines. Documentation of progress and strict confidentiality are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; meet state paraprofessional competency requirements.
• CPI training may be required.
• Experience with students with emotional/behavioral challenges preferred.
• Ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Implement tasks aligned with students' IEPs under teacher direction.
• Supervise students and assist with academic, social, motor, and daily activities.
• Observe, document, and communicate student progress to teachers.
• Assist with mobility, self-help skills, and adaptive equipment.
• Monitor halls and accompany students to specialists; ensure confidentiality.
