Job summary

Aya Education seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher Mod/Severe to Imperial Beach, CA. You will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment, and adapt teaching strategies to diverse learners.

You'll monitor student progress, maintain records, and ensure compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Must hold active state teaching certification with Special Education Endorsement issued by DOE.
• Must have experience with IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
• Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
• Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instructional approaches accordingly
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and growth
• Ensure compliance with all relevant educational policies and legal requirements
• Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and school activities to enhance instructional effectiveness
