Hackensack Public Schools seeks a certified middle school math teacher (Grades 5-8) to join our team and support student achievement. The position requires adherence to New Jersey Student Learning Standards and collaboration with families and colleagues in a dynamic middle school setting.

The role emphasizes differentiated instruction, effective classroom management, and the use of technology to enhance learning. December 1, 2026 start date with competitive salary per HBOE/HEA guidelines.

Formación

• Must hold NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities endorsement.
• NJ Middle School Math Certification for Grades 5-8 is required.
• New Jersey K-12 Mathematics Content Certification preferred.
• Experience teaching middle school mathematics preferred.

Job Summary:

• Implement the curriculum as aligned to New Jersey Student Learning Standards;
• Prepare and implement lessons that provide meaningful learning experiences for students;
• Establish clear objectives that reflect the learning standards;
• Differentiate academic instruction for students at varying levels of attainment to maximize student potential;
• Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff;
• Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required;
• Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus;
• Exhibit structured classroom management;
• Create a stimulating, aesthetically welcoming, organized, functional, healthy, and safe classroom;
• Utilize technology effectively in lessons, including gathering and managing student data;
• Perform non-instructional duties with timeliness and accuracy;
• Attend professional development sessions in order to further advance professional practice;
• Continue to grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiences;
• Maintain a reflective teaching practice

Qualifications:

• NJ Teacher of Student with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped endorsement is required.
• NJ Middle School with Subject Matter Specialization: Mathematics Grades 5-8 Certification required.
• New Jersey K-12 Mathematics Content Certification preferred.
• Middle school teaching experience preferred.

Working Conditions: Hackensack Middle School, December 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027

Salary: As per HBOE/HEA Agreement
