Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related teaching field.
• State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
• Successful prior experience in special education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops Individual Educational Plans (IEP) for students.
• Assists in implementing IEPs and behavior management plans.
• Coordinates with outside agencies and state/federal authorities.
• Communicates with students, parents, and staff; provides counseling as needed.
• Maintains accurate student records and progress; complies with laws.
• Engages in ongoing professional development; attends seminars/workshops.
• Organizes materials and equipment; supports new teacher orientation.
• Travels to district buildings and professional meetings as required.
