The Life Skills Aide role at TrulyHired provides direct support to students with physical, cognitive, developmental, and other disabilities within the classroom. You’ll work under teachers and special education staff to help students access instruction and develop independence in a respectful, confidential environment.

Responsibilities include one-on-one or small group support, assisting with personal care and mobility, and implementing individualized plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Ohio DOE certification/licensure as required.
• Experience with children or students with disabilities desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, teachers and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and flexibility to support independence.

Responsabilités

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with disabilities.
• Assist instruction, activities, and school-wide events.
• Support independence and life skills development.
• Aid transitions between classrooms and other school areas.
• Assist with personal care needs as directed by the educational team.
• Support mobility and safe use of adaptive equipment as trained.
• Maintain dignity, privacy, safety and confidentiality of students.
• Follow IEPs and other student plans as directed by staff.
• Observe and report student progress and needs to teachers.
