Job summary

New Braunfels ISD is seeking a dedicated instructional aide to support students with disabilities. You will assist teachers with classroom materials, displays, and data records, and help manage student needs throughout the day, including mobility assistance and personal care as needed.

Position requires a high school diploma, SBEC Educational Aide Certificate, and related paraprofessional credentials. A two-year college background is preferred, with two years' experience working with children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Educational Aide Certificate issued by SBEC.
• Paraprofessional Assessment Certificate held.
• Associates Degree or two years of college coursework.

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with maintaining a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist in keeping administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Support students with disabilities in classroom and non-classroom settings.
• Help meet individual student needs, including personal care and mobility tasks.
• Monitor and help manage student behavior as directed.
• Contribute to data records on learning and behavior as required.
• Attend training and participate in professional development.
