Position Type: Student Support Services/ LD/ED Teacher. Starting salary $51,612 in year 1. Position is part of the Yorkville CBA. Responsibilities include planning, collaboration with staff, and implementation of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies to meet student needs.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Professional Educator License withLBSI teaching endorsement preferred (K-12).
• Experience implementing IEPs and supporting diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Develops short and long-range plans aligned with curriculum goals and diverse learners.
• Understands identification procedures for individuals with disabilities from diverse backgrounds.
• Plans instructional strategies to adapt the general curriculum to meet individual student needs.
• Utilizes assistive technology and adaptive equipment to meet students' needs.
• Prepares for IEP and parent meetings and participates in related conferences.
• Implements behavior management strategies and crisis de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborates with teachers and therapists to plan adaptations and required supports.
• Supports transitions for individuals with disabilities across environments.
• Creates varied opportunities for effective communication for all students.
