Job summary

Achieve Beyond is seeking a dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher for Suffolk, NY. You will provide one-on-one instruction to preschoolers in CPSE, work across homes, daycares, and community settings, and coordinate with families to implement effective intervention strategies.

Qualifications

• Must have a passion for working with children and families.
• Must hold one of the NYS certifications/licenses listed below.
• Students with Disabilities (Birth 2) Initial or Professional Certification
• Permanent Special Education Certification
• TSHH Permanent Certification
• TSLD Initial or Professional Certification
• NYS Licensed Master Social Worker
• NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program.
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluations and progress reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within deadlines.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

StartingRate: hourly $65-68. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during theSpecial Education ItinerantTeacherinterview process.
