Job summary

Achieve Beyond in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher. You will provide personalized instruction to young children across home, clinic, and community settings, and collaborate closely with families to support progress.

The role offers a flexible schedule, strong clinical supervision, and access to a paperless data system. NYS SPED certifications are required for eligibility, with opportunities to grow within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate service records and submit evaluations and progress reports timely.
• Prepare progress reports according to program timelines.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and state/federal rules.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Itinerant Teacher to join our team! This job is located in Brooklyn, NY. As a Special Education Itinerant Teacher you can work a flexible schedule that meets your needs and make a difference in the lives of our children and families.

Wage: $70-$75 per hour

Responsibilities

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centres, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluations and progress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines

Requirements

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses: Students with Disabilities (Birth 2) Initial or Professional Certification OR Students with Disabilities All Grades, Initial or Professional, Permanent Special Education Certification
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to: Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train. The ability to ascend and descend staircases. The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly. The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

StartingRate: hourly $70. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during the Special Education Itinerant Teacher interview process.
