Job summary

Glenview Elementary in Oakland, California seeks an Instructional Support Specialist (0.8 FTE) to join the district’s Special Education team. The role focuses on providing instructional supports and behavioral interventions to students with disabilities, in a setting that aims to move students toward less restrictive environments.

Responsibilities include collaborating with teachers, participating in IEP meetings, and assisting with data collection and progress reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related behavioral sciences.
• 40 hours of ABA training required.
• Currently have, or willing to obtain CPI certification.
• At least one year of educational setting experience with behavior challenges.
• Valid California Driver’s License, if applicable.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide core curriculum instruction and behavior intervention to students with disabilities.
• Participate in IEP meetings and support instruction to goals.
• Follow schedule for implementing instruction and behavior plans.
• Assist in maintaining classroom environments and documentation.
• Confer with specialists and administrators on student progress.
• Supervise students in non‑academic settings and assist with safety.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Education or related behavioral sciences

ABA training (40 hours)

First Aid & CPR certification

CPD/CPI certification (willing to obtain)
