Job Summary

West Grand School District 1-Jt is seeking a passionate Special Education / Instructional Paraprofessional to provide a stimulating, safe and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children can develop cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills.

Qualifications

• Work under the supervision of a teacher.

• Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
• Proven problem‑solving skills.

Essential Functions

• Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
• Under teacher direction, monitor and implement instructional activities in groups or one‑to‑one settings using appropriate motivational and reinforcement techniques.
• Ensure the safety of students and knowledge of applicable safety procedures.
• Assist with instruction for students with special needs, including related services as required.
• Meet with teachers as needed to discuss lessons, interventions and techniques.
• Provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
• Other duties as assigned.
