Job summary

New Palestine High School is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support Special Education students with individual and small-group instruction, under the Building Principal. You will implement instructional activities and assist with daily classroom routines to help students access learning goals.

Responsibilities include planning with teachers, guiding students, maintaining records, and supervising during play and lunch, contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment for varied needs.

Qualifications

• Must be highly qualified by either 48 college credit hours or 2 years experience in working with children in an instructional setting.

Responsibilities

• Participates in classroom activity planning.
• Conducts learning exercises with small groups of children and individual students.
• Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children.
• Alerts the teacher to the special needs of individual children.
• Helps maintain individual records for each child.
• Assists the teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas.
• Assists with the supervision of children during regular play periods and lunch supervision.
