Job summary

OakPoint Elementary in Little Elm ISD is seeking an Instructional Assistant for Special Education RISE. The role reports to the Campus Principal and supports the certified teacher with preparing instructional materials and managing classroom activities.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and a valid Texas educational aide certificate. The position is non-exempt, on site, and part of the CP3 pay grade with calendar 178.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assists with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments and work assignments.
• Helps maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Helps with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
• Helps teacher keep administrative records and prepares required reports.
• Provides orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conducts instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; works with individual students or small groups.
• Helps supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom.
