Job summary

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Timberline Elementary in Grapevine, TX seeks a Special Education Assistant for the RISE program for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports students with significant developmental disabilities in a self-contained setting and assists with instruction, daily living, and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, preferred education credentials, and ability to work under supervision to implement IEPs and behavior plans.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in an educational environment preferred.
• Pass an academic assessment administered by GCISD.
• 48+ hours of study in higher education, Associates Degree or higher.
• An Educational Aide Certification; may be applied for once employed

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and assistance for students with significant social, communication, mobility, cognitive and/or behavioral challenges.
• Help students take care of physical needs and personal care including feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.
• Assist students with physical disabilities according to their needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, or positioning.
• Adapt classroom work under the direction of the teacher to support and reinforce instruction.
• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and developing students’ daily living, behavioral, and educational skills.
• Follow students’ IEP and maintain confidentiality.
