Job summary

Glenn Westlake Middle School in Lombard, IL seeks an Instructional Assistant to support classroom instruction under the supervision of the building principal. The role is a LTAA contract position and includes licensure requirements for Illinois paraprofessional staff.

Licenses include PARAPROFESSIONAL, SUB/BA or PEL and registration in DuPage county. Sick, personal days and paid holidays are provided, with hourly compensation based on license held.

Qualifications

• Holds PARAPROFESSIONAL, SUB/BA OR PEL Licensure for Illinois and registered in county 19 (DuPage)
• Prefer experience with special education students.

Responsibilities

• Prepares classroom materials for instruction as directed by teacher.
• Works with individuals or small groups of students to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Guides independent study, enrichment, make-up and remedial work as directed by the teacher.
• Supervises students as assigned by the building principal.
