Job summary

Genesee Lake School, a MyPath company, seeks an Instructional Aide to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, and trauma. You will collaborate with the classroom teacher and supervisor to monitor activities, complete data, and assist in curriculum implementation.

You must be 21+, have a high school diploma, and may need a Wisconsin Instructional Aide license. Training is provided in a supportive, employee-owned environment that emphasizes growth.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least one year of experience with special needs students preferred.
• Eligible for Instructional Aide license through Wisconsin DPI.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Meet with classroom teacher and/or supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behaviors and medical concerns.
• Complete and submit paperwork, lesson plans, instructional data, and behavior data timely.
• Use agency-approved treatment techniques to supervise and educate students.
• Demonstrate familiarity with behavior management and education techniques used at GLS.
• Act as role model for students, staff and community; engage students in active learning.
• Provide constructive feedback for staff and ensure Education Department policies are followed.
