Job summary

Genesee Lake School, a MyPath company, is seeking an Instructional Aide-oriented candidate to support students with disabilities. You will collaborate with teachers, implement approved techniques, and help maintain academic and behavioral data while modeling professional conduct.

The role emphasizes teamwork, calm problem-solving under pressure, and a commitment to inclusive education in Wisconsin’s school setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• At least one year of experience working with special needs students preferred.
• Eligible for Instructional Aide license through the State of Wisconsin DPI.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining self-control.
• Effective working alone and as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Meet with classroom teacher and/or supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behaviors, social and/or medical concerns related to the students.
• Complete and submit paperwork, lesson plans, instructional data, and behavior data as scheduled.
• Use Agency-approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students.
• Demonstrate familiarity with behavior management techniques used at GLS.
• Act as a role model and set an appropriate example for students, staff, and the community.
• Demonstrate familiarity with curriculum by using resources to implement students’ program under supervision.
• Engage students in active learning.
• Provide constructive feedback for staff and ensure Education Department policies are followed.
