Job summary

JP Schools is seeking a Special Education Coordinator to lead curriculum design, assessment development, and instructional services for grades 6-12 in Louisiana. The role emphasizes collaboration with administrators, staff development, and accountability reporting.

The candidate will guide textbook selection, coordinate professional development, and ensure compliance with state regulations. This full-time position requires leadership and strong organizational skills in a district setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of five years special education teaching experience at middle or high school level.
• Collaborative management style with diverse individuals to drive decisions and results.
• Knowledge of Louisiana regulations and Bulletins relevant to school operations.

Responsibilities

• Assists in designing, writing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating curriculum and instructional practices.
• Develops standards-based assessments to ensure student mastery of standards.
• Coordinates and facilitates evaluation and selection of textbooks and instructional materials.
• Provides professional development to staff and informs principals of scheduled PD sessions.
• Collaborates with district administrators to assess program effectiveness and set improvement objectives.
• Maintains connections with schools via administrative updates, website, email, and visits.
• Prepares written reports and oral presentations on curriculum, instruction, and accountability.
• Performs duties within the scope of employment and certifications as assigned.
