Job summary

This full-time role monitors compliance, coordinates IEP teams across the district and East County SELPA, and collaborates with principals/parents to ensure appropriate placement and services for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related area with advanced study in one or more major handicapping conditions.
• Experience in special education settings and understanding of IEP processes desired.
• California credentialing requirements for Special Education or related authorization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assessment for IEP team referrals and placement decisions.
• Monitor compliance with district, state and federal timelines.
• Collaborate with principals, staff, and families to support student placement and services.
• Lead IEP meetings and assist in developing instructional goals and appropriate placements.
• Design and participate in district-wide staff development on special education practices.
