Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree from an accredited college.
• ETS Paraprofessional Assessment with a passing score.
• Ability to work with students and reinforce learning.
• Strong communication and teamwork with staff.

Responsibilities

• Work with students to reinforce learning of materials and skills initially introduced by the classroom teacher.
• Meet and assist the teacher in developing and devising special strategies for reinforcing materials or skills based on understanding of individual student needs, interest and abilities.
• Carry out classroom instructional support and activities as directed by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment which is conducive to student learning and achievement.
• Perform other duties consistent with the job goal of student safety and learning.
• Alert the classroom teacher or administrator to any problem, or special information about an individual student(s).
• Assume the role of classroom paras when needed.
• May accompany special education students when participating in general education experiences.
