Qualifications

• Required state certification in General Curriculum (license code 88091 or 88001) and designated as highly qualified.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for identifying learning issues and recommending corrective procedures.
• Develops Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for students.
• Assists students and staff in implementing students' IEPs and behavior management plans.
• Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs.
• Continues to acquire professional knowledge by attending seminars and professional meetings.
• Organizes and maintains a system for accurate record-keeping and providing student information as required.
• Encourages parental involvement and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
• Knowledge of Response to Instruction.
