Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking a qualified educator to provide training, consultation, and mentoring for teachers on evidence-based practices in academic subjects for students with disabilities. The role requires understanding Chapter 60 and willingness to travel across the Canoe Complex Area.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree, a Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit, and an active plan toward meeting licensing requirements; ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit required on hire.
• If not licensed, completion of Hawaii Teacher Education Program within three years of employment.
• Active pursuit toward meeting Hawaii licensing requirements each year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, consultation and mentoring for teachers on evidence-based practices in academic subjects for students with disabilities; travel to all schools within the Canoe Complex Area (K-12).

Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit

Completion of Hawaii Teacher Education Program within three years
