Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IDEA and special education law.
• Research-based instructional practices in reading, writing, math, social/emotional development.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
• Experience with diverse populations of students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop compliant IEPs and review for compliance.
• Support curriculum implementation for special education.
• Plan and conduct professional development for SPED staff.
• Develop and implement programs compliant with IDEA and state/federal laws.
• Create developmentally appropriate interventions for students and groups.
• Attend IEP meetings as District Representative as needed.
• Coordinate homebound services and oversee alternative tests.
• Coordinate with principals on caseloads, schedules, and transportation.
• Conduct classroom observations and support behavioral planning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Reports to the Director of Student Services.
