SUMMARY: Provides curriculum support and professional development in the areas of special education

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide guidance with developing compliant IEPs and review IEPs for compliance
• Support staff with curriculum implementation
• Plans and conducts professional development to support special education teachers
• Supports teachers by facilitating the development and implementation of programs compliant with state and federal laws (IDEA)
• Helps teachers develop and implement classroom‑based, developmentally appropriate interventions for individual students and groups of children to enhance their acquisition of social/emotional and cognitive skills
• Attend IEP meetings as the District Representative, as needed
• Coordinate homebound services
• Oversee alternative test
• Coordinate with principals regarding caseloads, schedules, special education, transportation

• Support writing behavioral plans
