Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Special Education Co-Teacher in San Antonio, TX to support instructional delivery and student development under the guidance of lead teachers. The role emphasizes gaining experience in Special Education and pursuing certification through our program.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Experience: Experience in a classroom setting or with children.
• Licenses/Certifications: Willingness to pursue Special Education certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under facilitator guidance.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans and monitor progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable participation.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, social workers, and other therapists.
• Maintain student records with classroom teachers.
• Support students with emotional/behavior concerns and develop social skills.
• Daily living assistance may include feeding, lifting, toileting in Life Skills Unit.
• Some campuses may require school bus riding before/after school.
