Job summary

Medford School District 549C in Medford, Oregon, seeks a Special Education Classroom Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The position begins in August 2026 and offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new-to-district and first-time Special Education teachers.

This is a permanent, exempt, certified role reporting to the Principal. The teacher will develop and provide specialized instruction, manage IEPs, assess progress, and coordinate services while adhering to state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for or adequately licensed by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission for assignment as a special education teacher.
• Experience with developing and implementing IEPs and collaborating with educational professionals.
• Knowledge of state and federal requirements for Special Education and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements annual IEP plans and tracks progress.
• Coordinates delivery of special education services per IEP.
• Maintains paperwork per local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Collaborates with educational professionals and community service providers regarding the needs of students.
• Provides consultation to classroom teachers on adaptations and interventions to meet needs of students with disabilities.
• Establishes classroom structure and consistent routines in line with district policies.
• Participates on school-level teams and contributes to Tier 3 interventions.
