Job summary

Medford School District, 549C is seeking a Special Education Classroom Teacher to join in August 2025 for grades K-3. Qualifications

• Must be eligible for or adequately licensed by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission for assignment as a special education teacher.
• Experience varies depending on the assignment.
• Familiar with state/federal/local laws regarding Special Education.
• Interpersonal skills: interact professionally with teachers, staff, and students.
• Language skills: fluent English; ability to read and interpret safety rules, etc.
• Mathematical skills: basic arithmetic and proportions.
• Reasoning: apply common sense to instructions.
• Computer skills: basic computer and software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements annual IEPs for students, tracks progress, and makes modifications.
• Coordinates delivery of special education services per each IEP.
• Maintains paperwork in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Collaborates with educational professionals and providers to meet student needs.
• Provides guidance to teachers on classroom adaptations and interventions.
• Ensures a structured, orderly classroom aligned with district policies.
• Maintains student records with confidentiality and timeliness.
• Communicates with parents/guardians and school staff regarding student progress.
