Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Homestead, PA seeks an Instructional Support Specialist to assist with academic, social, and behavioral needs of students in the Day Academy. You will support instructional staff by providing one-on-one tutoring and implementing basic educational programming under supervision.

This daytime, 35-hour-per-week role follows the local school calendar, with weekends and holidays off.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related discipline from an accredited school/college required.
• Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues.
• A valid PA Driver’s License preferred; State Criminal, Child Abuse and FBI clearances required; be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor; strong passion for helping children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher by implementing basic educational programming.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring or individualized support to students with special needs.
• Support students with academic, social, and behavioral needs in classroom activities.
• Collaborate with staff to monitor student progress and adjust support as needed.
