Allegan Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional for Kindergarten to assist students with academic tasks and support classroom activities.
You will work closely with teachers and staff, supporting instruction in computer labs and libraries, and helping individuals or small groups during follow-up activities.
High School diploma or equivalent is required and applicants MUST be "Highly Qualified" as required under NCLB – this requires 60 or more college credits or a passing score of 460 on the ETS Parapro Assessment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to push items of 25 pounds, such as pushing children on a bike, in a wheelchair, or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
6.5 hours/day (7:35 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.), 35 hours/week, Monday-Friday, School Year Employment - student days only.
Based on Paraprofessional Bargaining Unit Agreement.
