Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs, especially autism, intellectual disability, or emotional disturbance.
• Ability to interpret IEPs and implement instructional plans.
• Ability to work one-on-one or in small groups and to manage classroom behavior.
• Must meet one of: completed two years of college; two-year degree; No Child Left Behind certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing learning experiences for students.
• Provide feedback on student performance to teachers.
• Instruct students in small group and one-on-one settings.
• Help implement behavior management and safety.
• Collaborate with classroom staff and outside agencies on individual plans.
• Perform related clerical duties as needed.
