Job summary

Devereux Day Academy in Landenberg, PA seeks a Teacher Assistant to provide direct behavioral intervention and support within a multi-disciplinary educational setting.

The role focuses on safety, structured learning environments, and collaboration with Special Education Teachers to implement skill-building and data-driven behavioral plans. 21+ age requirement and a driver’s license are needed.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.
• EXPERIENCE: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders.
• Must be 21 years old
• Valid driver's license must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety.
• Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors.
• Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups.
• Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher.
• Support and reinforce PW-PBIS goals and objectives.
