Job summary

Devereux Day Academy in Landenberg, PA seeks a Teacher Assistant to provide direct behavioral intervention and support within a private academic setting for grades K-12. The role is year-long and involves working with a multi-disciplinary team to implement PW-PBIS and tailored educational plans.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (Special Education preferred), experience with individuals with disabilities, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Special Education preferred.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders.
• Must be 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license maintained.

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety.
• Assist in establishing classroom environments conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors.
• Work with Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups.
• Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher.
• Support and reinforce PW-PBIS goals and objectives.
