Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an assistant teacher to support K-12 students with special needs in a dynamic classroom. The role emphasizes small-group instruction, collaboration with lead teachers, and proactive behavior and academic support using SESI models.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations in classroom.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group instruction and implement SESI’s academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks, using data to select materials, and completing tutorials.
• Assist with large group activities, grading, and accommodations as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and de-escalation techniques to maintain safety.
