Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools is seeking an Education Assistant for the WAVE program at Plymouth Middle School. This seven-hour position includes 6.5 hours of paid work time with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, at $24.03 per hour, plus benefits.

The role supports students with disabilities in a structured, small-class environment designed for individualized learning. Responsibilities include supervising students, assisting teachers, and providing crisis support as needed.

Qualifications

• At least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits in MN) or an associate’s degree or higher.
• Passing score on the ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment.
• Experience with students who have cognitive or physical disabilities preferred.
• Word processing, filing and computer familiarity.
• Patient, calm and understanding manner with students.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing supervision and instruction to students with disabilities.
• Provides clerical and organizational support to special education teachers as needed.
• Works with individuals and/or small groups when activities are presented by teachers.
• Provides support for students in crisis.
• Willingness to lift, carry and physically manage as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by teacher or principal.
