Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools seeks a Special Education Class 3B Education Assistant to support students in the WAVE program at Lakeview Elementary School in New Hope, MN. The position is seven hours per day, including 6.5 paid hours and 30 minutes lunch.

Compensation is $24.75 per hour based on the current contract plus benefits. This role involves supervising students, providing instructional support, crisis assistance, and collaboration with teachers.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credits (60 credits in MN) or an associate's degree, or a passing score on the ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment.
• Experience working with students who have cognitive, physical disabilities and behavior challenges preferred.
• Word processing, filing and basic computer familiarity.
• Patient, calm and understanding manner with students.
• Sense of confidentiality and regular, timely attendance.
• Ability to assist students with classroom assignments and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and instruct students with disabilities.
• Provide clerical and organizational support to teachers.
• Work with individuals and/or small groups as activities are presented by teachers.
• Provide support for students in crisis.
• Willing to lift, carry and physically assist as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by teacher or principal.
