Description

Children's Academy is a 12-month K-12 educational program for children with speech and language delays. We are looking for Special Education Assistant Teachers to join our team! Applicants should be collaborative, enthusiastic, and flexible. Comprehensive knowledge of child development is a plus! Experience working with students with learning disabilities, academic writing skills, and beng open to feedback, and the ability to work well with a collaborative team and families are important skills for candidates to possess if they are to be successful in the role.

Requirements

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Supporting Head Teacher with small group academics and work 1:1 with students as needed
  • Leading one instructional small group
  • Planning coherent lessons aligned to state standards
  • Modifying lesson activities and assignments to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Supporting differentiation where appropriate
  • Supporting classroom routines, procedures, and activities
  • Participating in collaborative team meetings
  • Collaborating with the classroom team to discuss areas of growth and continuously using data to provide appropriate individualized instruction and support
  • Assessing student progress and reporting on growth and deficits
