Job Opening: Assistant Teachers for Pisgah Program at SAR Academy

SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY, is now accepting resumes for Assistant Teachers in the Pisgah Program for the 2025-2026 school year, in Kindergarten and Lower School (grades 1-5).

About Pisgah

Pisgah is SAR’s integrated support program, combining the need for intensive support with the benefits of learning as part of the whole school community. It offers children the support of a full-time Special Education teacher and related providers, while also allowing them to learn in a General Education classroom. This hybrid approach provides strong peer models and the intensive support a student may need. The name 'Pisgah' means 'summit' in Hebrew, reflecting SAR’s commitment to helping students reach their personal educational and social summits in a supportive community environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and differentiate curricular materials in collaboration with teaching teams to meet the needs of all students.
  2. Lead small group activities.
  3. Work actively and collaboratively with the teaching team on daily activities and special programs.
  4. Assume responsibilities outside the classroom, such as lunch, dismissal, and recess duty.
Qualifications

Salary: $30,000 - $40,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
