Job summary

Springboro Junior High School is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students with identified special needs within the district's program. Reports to the building principal and collaborates with teachers to implement IEP goals.

The role involves assisting with academics, guiding small groups, accompanying on field trips, and serving as a resource to the evaluation team. Strong attendance, ability to lift heavy objects, and valid Ohio certification are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Educational Aide Certificate (may be obtained after employment).
• Must possess valid Ohio driver's license.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assists students in completing academic assignments and self-help tasks in all curricular areas, working toward IEP goals.
• Works with small groups of students to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Accompanies student(s) on class field trips or community experiences.
• Serves as a resource person to the evaluation team concerning assigned students.
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
• Assists students to whom assigned in daily tasks and builds positive relationships.
• Establishes supportive relationships with students, staff and parents.
